After an unsuccessful loan spell at Norwich City, Harry Kane has returned to Tottenham Hotspur.
Chris Hughton announced today that striker Harry Kane has been recalled to Tottenham Hotspur from his season-long loan at Norwich City. Injury troubles doomed the loan, as Kane had a long-term injury to start the season and has been unable to find consistent playing time since. The writing on the wall seemed to come with the signing of Luciano Becchio and Kei Kamara arriving on loan, both strikers.
The key question now becomes what to do with Kane. Kane, 19, has long been one of Spurs biggest prospects and found success on loan last season with Millwall. But still in his development, what would be best for Kane? Spurs certainly could use the depth of having Kane back on the squad, with only two strikers on the roster. However, it seems unlikely that Kane will find consistent playing time in the league, forcing him to largely play for the U-21 side.
The best answer entering the season seemed to be a Premiership loan, but after that failed the only other option seems to be a return to The Championship, where the emergency loan window is still open. Therefore, it might be in Spurs' best interest to give Kane another Championship loan. Millwall could very well be interested, and with the Lions battling for a a playoff spot Kane could find meaningful football.
