Laurence Griffiths

A guy that your humble blog manager thinks has a future at a top club isn't going to play much this season, so he's a very good candidate for a loan.

This post is part of a deadline morning series on potential Tottenham transfers. You can find all of the posts in the series right here, as well as the initial post explaining this series right here.

I really like Jake Livermore. I think he's going to become a very good central midfielder if given the time. The only thing he lacks at the moment is composure. He's very creative for a defensive midfielder, he has touch, he's a top-notch athlete, he's a good tackler, and his positioning is above average for someone with his level of experience. He's awesome. You can't tell me otherwise.

However, he also gives the ball away under pressure quite frequently. He also tends to pick the safest pass instead of trying to make something happen when he's in high-pressure situations against top teams. Dude just needs games. he's not going to get them at Spurs at the moment.

Quick bio: Jake Livermore is a defensive midfielder who came from the Tottenham youth team. He made his professional debut for MK Dons in the 2007-08 season and made his Spurs debut in the 2010-11 season. He's played 50 games for Tottenham in his career.

Age: 23

Likelihood he'll play if he stays: Minimal

Potential suitors: Queens Park Rangers, West Ham United, Fulham, Sunderland

Price if he's sold: Around £5m

Loan or sale?: Loan, and I doubt it's even a loan with an option to buy. There's no reason to write him off yet..

The verdict - Will he be an active Spurs player on February 1?: My guess is yes, but it's 50/50 at the moment. I wouldn't be shocked either way. I would, however, be stunned if neither of Tom Huddlestone or Livermore left. This might be a one or the other situation.
