Tottenham Hotspur is not the only squad off to a slow start this season. The crew over at Cartilage Free Captain is off to a slow start predicting as well, going far too optimistic in trying to feel what is coming for Tottenham Hotspur.

But the transfer window is closed, so we're hoping that our predictions get consistent as this Spurs squad settles in together. But in the way this week is a trip to Reading, who are off to a slow start of their own. The Royals have only earned one point this season, but a cancelled game against Sunderland gives Reading a game in hand?

Will either team get off the schneid this weekend? The rules remain the same in the Prediction League--one point for a correct prediction, a bonus point for getting the score correct. Here are the current standings:

Name Score
Ashlock 2
The Roosevelts 1
Kevin 0
Mechanick 0
Ryan 0
Ed 0
Petrilli 0
Uncle Menno 0

This week's predictions after the jump:

Kevin: I will keep saying it until it's true, dammit. 2-0 Tottenham

Mechanick: Deuce gets loose, and so does Ade. 3-0 Spurs

Ryan: Guys, I still miss Luka. We need to win to make me feel better. 2-0 Spurs

Ashlock: I'm not sure how much better Spurs will look, but the extra prep will mean something. 3-1 Spurs

The Roosevelts:It 's Reading. I mean we can't be so bad that we can't beat Reading right? 2-0 Spurs

Ed: I've said "the pieces are all in place" for weeks now, and it has become apparent over this period that the pieces are not yet in place. If by some chance that state of affairs changes this weekend and we see our new stars start to click this weekend, we should be able to grind this one out. 1-0 Spurs.

Petrilli: Five Star Effort, Gareth Bale cures cancer. Spurs 5-0

Uncle Menno: Every prediction I've made thus far has been dead wrong, so dammit, I'm counting on that. Spurs find a way to cock it up away to a relegation candidate. Deuce scores, but that's the bright light in an otherwise crappy game. 2-1 Reading. Now go forth and prove me wrong. (Please?)
