Rafael Van der Vaart is officially gone, and you have the right to be sad about it. Everyone's a little sad about it. I understand why he was sold and I think it was a good deal for the team, but I'm going to miss him quite a bit.
Apparently, he missed Hamburg quite a bit, or is at least really interesting in becoming a big fan favorite again. He spent his entire press conference gushing about how HSV is the bestest thing in the world.
Van der Vaart: "It's a real dream and quite emotional for me. I had my best time here and always missed Hamburg."

Good luck at your new-old club, Rafa. He had a couple of excellent years here with some very memorable performances, but selling a 29-year-old who rarely is able to play for more than 60 minutes is simply smart business. Now, let's hope Daniel Levy gets deals done and spends that money today.
