Rumor has it that Tottenham Hotspur and Olympique Lyonnais aren't going to be able to work out a deal for Hugo Lloris (we'll have more on that in 15 minutes), but it's August 31 and Daniel Levy still runs Spurs. This one's going to be off and on a few times today, regardless of whether or not it gets done.
Spurs have been after Lloris for a while, and Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas previously said that the transfer was in Lloris's hands. Aulas, Lloris, Lloris's agent and Levy are probably the only people on earth who know how likely this deal is to go through.
With Lyon since: July 2008
Claim to fame: He's been France's No. 1 and a consistent Champions League performer for some time. Possibly the best goalkeeper in the world 25-years-old or younger.
Likelihood he's purchased: Decent, but obviously there have been some hang-ups in negotiations. I'm not expecting Lloris to arrive, but no one should be shocked if this deal wraps up. However, it's worth considering that Lyon and Tottenham aren't very different clubs at the moment. Lloris might only be willing to leave for either Champions League football or astonishing money. We offer neither.
What's his role if purchased?: Instantly takes over the starting goalkeeper role. Sorry, Brad.
If we buy him, we probably pay: £15m.
