LONDON, ENGLAND - APRIL 23: Referee Stuart Atwell looks on as Rafael Van der Vaart of Spurs is tackled by James Morrison of West Brom during the Barclays Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and West Bromwich Albion at White Hart Lane on April 23, 2011 in London, England. Happy Spursday, Spursland! Tottenham Hotspur play their first home game of the season today against West Bromwich Albion, and a win would be really nifty. If you were under a rock last week, West Brom are coming off an impressive 3-0 win over Liverpool, and we're coming off a loss to Newcastle.
Younes Kaboul is injured and unavailable today. Other than his absence, the lineup has one other change.
Tottenham Hotspur lineup (4-2-3-1): Brad Friedel; Benoit Assou-Ekotto, Jan Verthonghen, William Gallas, Kyle Walker; Sandro, Jake Livermore; Gareth Bale, Rafael Van der Vaart, Aaron Lennon; Jermain Defoe
West Bromwich Albion lineup (4-2-3-1): Ben Foster; Liam Ridgewell, Jonas Olsson, Gareth McAuley, Steven Reid; Youssuf Mulumbu, Claudio Yacob; Marc-Antoine Fortune, Graham Dorrans, James Morrison; Shane Long
If Rafa is fit, I like the change. I think Gylfi Sigurdsson is going to be a great player for us, but he wasn't good against Newcastle. I'm also not surprised at all that Jermain Defoe has remained in over Emmanuel Adebayor.
Kickoff is at 3 p.m. local time, 10 a.m. ET from White Hart Lane. You can watch the game on FOX Soccer Plus or FOX Soccer 2 Go in the States. It's on Sportsnet World in Canada. There's no TV coverage in the UK, but please do not post illegal streams in the thread.
