We passed along the news earlier today that Younes Kaboul had picked up a knee injury and that he might be out for the weekend. The official team website has now confirmed that Kaboul will not play against West Bromwich Albion at White Hart Lane on Saturday.
The good news is that Kaboul's injury does not appear to be anything serious and that this is more about Kaboul being in pain and taking precautions than any kind of major issue. Andre Villas-Boas spoke about the injury.
"Unfortunately, Younes had some discomfort in his patella tendon, so he went to see a specialist to analyse his knee. We're not looking at anything serious."
There's a bit more news to report, which you can find below the jump.
Villas-Boas also talked about Giovani dos Santos and Scott Parker. Our favorite RAF Fighter Pilot is still sidelined with an Achilles problem, but the team is happy with his progress. Gio ran into a bit of back luck on Thursday, though.
"Scott Parker is making a good recovery but Gio was unlucky in a training session today, he pulled his calf muscle. It's poor news for him because it was his first training session. There are a couple of other things, but nothing major."
Since Michael Dawson has been rumored to be for sale (and since he's not a great fit for the high line anyway), expect to see Jan Vertonghen and William Gallas in defense. That should be the only change from the team that faced Newcastle, but who knows? We'll obviously talk more about the game tomorrow.
