New reports from Sky Sports say that Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor is returning to Tottenham Hotspur on a full transfer. A transfer fee of £5 million was reportedly agreed between the two clubs earlier in the summer, but personal terms have been the fail point for finishing the deal between the Togolese striker and Spurs. However, it now seems Adebayor and club chairman Daniel Levy have been able to reach a compromise on a new contract

Adebayor, 28, played last season on loan with Tottenham Hotspur, tallying 17 goals and 11 assists in Premier League competition. Adebayor has been back with Manchester City this pre-season, as rumours have swirled around the striker. Citizens Manager Roberto Mancini seems to have no place in this season's Manchester City side for the veteran striker.

Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas has long talked about his desire to add another striker this offseason, and Adebayor would certainly fit the bill. However, it is to be seen whether Adebayor would be the sole answer to Tottenham's striker depth, or if further reinforcements could arrive. With Luka Modric's departure still looming, the answer to where those funds may be re-invested remains a mystery.
