The BBC is now reporting that Luka Modric's transfer saga is finally coming to a close. More of the details of the prospective transfer from Tottenham Hotspur to Real Madrid are finally coming out. The fee is believed by some news outlets to be £30 million initially with an additional £8 million in add-ons. The BBC, however, believes the fee to be closer to £25 million with an additional £5 in add-ons.
Obviously, the BBC is a bit more trustworthy when it comes to these sorts of things, but I really hope the deal goes above £30 million because then we get more money. I think if the fee is only £25 million, even with the additional money in add-ons, it represents a bit of a failure for the club. Daniel Levy believes his tactics will pull the most value out of his players, but a fee of less than £30 million is certainly not even close to the most value Levy could have gotten.
The 26-year-old, Modric, is expected to hold talks with Real officials in the coming days after the La Liga side revived a deal that had previously stalled. Modric is expected to undergo a medical and agree terms in the next 48 hours. So, it's looking pretty likely that by the beginning of next week Luka Modric will no longer be a member of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.
