BERN, SWITZERLAND - AUGUST 15: Jermain Defoe #19 of England celebrates with Joleon Lescott (L) after scoring their second goal during the international friendly match between England and Italy at Stade de Suisse, Wankdorf on August 15, 2012 in Bern, Switzerland. Tottenham Hotspur need a striker? Maybe, but it looks like Tottenham Hotspur already have a striker. Roy Hodgson gave Jermain Defoe a run-out today in his highly experimental England team, like he did with a number of other fringe players that he wanted to get a look at. He made a case for his inclusion in future squads, scoring an absolute stunner for the Three Lions to fire them to a 2-1 win over Italy.

The goal is an absolutely spectacular one, and you can watch the video of it below. Heads up to Goals Arena and 101 Great Goals for the goal video. Kyle Walker started and went 90 minutes for England in this game, while Jake Livermore came in as a 69th minute substitute. Unfortunately, Steven Caulker did not get to play in this game for England.

Let's hope that Jermain can produce some of this on Saturday against Newcastle. Video is below the jump, by request.
