Giovani dos Santos stil wants to leave Tottenham Hotspur. The Mexican International has never really gotten a chance to showcase his abilities at White Hart Lane, but coming off another good international tournament and with a new manager at Spurs, some of us hoped that might change. However, the playmaker's agent seems to believe that dos Santos could be an important bargaining chip in bringing out-of-favor Inter Milan goalkeeper Julio Cesar to North London.
According to Calciomercato, dos Santos Agent believes that there are a number of options available for his client:
An exchange with Juio Cesar? Journalists often speak without knowing things but not in this case. Inter is one possibility, I don't deny it. We have several alternatives and we need to evaluate them, us and Tottenham. The truth is that Gio has always expressed his preference for La Liga or Serie A and this is our intention. The economic situation in both countries does not help, but we are confident that we will find an appropriate solution.
Now that it seems increasingly unlikely that Hugo Lloris will be joining Spurs, it's only logical that the Cesar rumors will intensify. However, exchange deals are very rare in football and I'm not sure that I can see this particular deal actually happening. I'm personally not willing to give up on Gio and let him go in an exchange deal. If I were Levy I'd be selling him in a deal involving lots of escalator clauses.
