Younes Kaboul, a man who over time has become admired by Spurs fans for his power and aggression on the pitch. Now in his second stint as a Spurs player the Jack of all trades Defender / Midfielder may have finally secured himself a spot in the starting 11 with the departure of Lane legend Ledley King.

Arriving from Auxerre in June 2007, Kaboul quickly endeared himself to the fans in the terraces with his confident, no nosense style of play. The French international played 29 times for the first team in his initial spell at Tottenham including a memorable performance against Aston Villa on October 1st 2007 in the club's 125th anniversary, with Spurs trailing 4-1 an incredible comeback was topped of with a stunning Kaboul equailizer deep into stoppage time. In a bit of a surprising move inAugust 2008, Portsmouth came calling for Kaboul and snagged the classy player up for an undisclosed fee, reported to be in the region of 9.5 million. During his time on the South Coast, Younes Kaboul became a personal favourite of Harry Redknapp, the impression that that Kaboul left on 'Arry' would lead to his way back to Spurs in January 2010. Harry Redknapp never mixed his words when asked about Kaboul he always spoke very highly of the French international and on his return to the Lane in 2010 Harry stated that Kaboul "was much improved from his original spell at White Hart Lane" and that Kaboul was a "late developer".

Since first arriving at Spurs from Auxerre in 2008 I have watched and followed the career of Kaboul closely, and was greatly saddened when he left for Portsmouth in 2008. But upon his return I can see that his time away was good for him on a professional level. Ever since returning to the Lane in 2010 Kaboul has become a far more reliable, intelligent footballer that has lead to him becoming a regular first team member instead of a (short-fix solution). On both a Club and International level Kaboul's game has progressed in recent years, Kaboul's has now earned 5 full international caps for his country including a cracking goal against Ukraine in a friendly on June 6th 2012.

The 6ft 3in (1.90m) physically imposing French International Younes Kaboul, is in my opinion a immensely talented 26 year Who has not peaked just yet, I think its conceivably possible that Younes Kaboul's best footballing years are still in front of him. After impressing AVB in limited time this off-season, maybe 2012 is the best chance that Younes has had to secure a full time first team spot. And as a Younes Kaboul fan and a equally devoted Spurs fan I hope he can cerment a spot in the starting squad under the AVB revolution.
