Tottenham Hotspur have been linked to Atletico Madrid forward Adrian, but where that rumor came from, nobody knows. In any event, it didn't come from anyone that had knowledge of Tottenham making any kind of inquiry with the club, because that inquiry never happened. According to Atletico Madrid club president Enrique Cerezo, no one has called the club about Adrian's availability. He also said that he doesn't plan on selling the player anytime soon.

It's a rumor that I always thought was pretty curious in the first place. He hasn't been impressive in the games he's played as a center forward. He can play anywhere along the front line, but he's been most effective as a left forward and as a central attacking midfielder, two spots where Tottenham have plenty of depth. His release clause is reportedly €18m, a high price to pay for a player who wouldn't have much of a chance of becoming a first choice starter up top.

So much for that rumor. I was never much of a fan of the idea anyway.
