Is Adebayor About To Become A Full-Time Spur? He Certainly Thinks So

Exciting news for those of us who hold out faith that one day Emmanuel Adebayor will settle at a club long enough to have as good a sophomore season as his first, as the former Togolese international dropped a hint on Twitter today that the wheels have been set in motion for him to be fully signed up from Manchester City by Daniel Levy.

In a Tweet that appears consistent with reports that Ade has taken well to life at Spurs and to Harry Redknapp's unique management style, the striker claimed: "Loved my spell at Tottenham. We are working hard with the chairman to make it permanent. Will keep you informed!!"

Considering the fact that Spurs will be almost exclusively reliant on Jermaine Defoe next season as our only mainstay striker unless some bold moves are made in the transfer market over the course of the coming months, this is far from discouraging news. However, it wouldn't be incorrect to state that Manny's occasional bouts of mental absence during important games, in additon to his exorbitant wage demands, have left certain quarters of the Spurs support wondering if the club could do a little better than another season of reliance on the mercurial player. One way or another, for my part, you can consider this space under official watch from here on in.
