Happy Wednesday, Spursland! Apparently nobody has gotten the memo that summer is here and it's time for crazy ass transfer rumors every day because we don't really have any yet. This is like on Deadliest Catch, you know crabs are coming, but they might not show up right away. I guess the same could be applied to being a sailor pre-1980 too, I guess.
And now the "news"
I can't blame him for wanting to stay. He gets to play all the time there in a way that really showcases him. And what's more, while no Spurs fan ever had a truly negative thing to say about him while he was here, we never came close to cherishing him they way the fans up north do.
That isn't a typo - the source is actually a publication called Stuff.com. It is clearly a different world down that way. For instance, have you noticed that when they name their national team sides they always seem to follow the same template? it goes like this "All (insert color)"? They have the All Blacks for rugby, the All Whites for soccer, the All Magentas for extreme arm wrestling (I am not 100% on that last onem but you get the point)
What's happening around SB Nation after the jump
I don't know how he keeps doing it (I do, actually he keeps beating up the FA in print), but SB Nation's Andi Thomas continues to editorialize his way into my heart. This time he appeals to the history teacher in me with his historical comparison of City to those in the past who have bought the title, which is to say everyone. And it is here that he hits on one of the most cross cultural trends in all of world history - that very many things ever change, they just become more intense.
One forward, one measly forward? WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU JURGEN? This guy must be just trying to see how far he can push things before he gets fired. ONE FORWARD, and it is a guy who can't play as a lone striker.
While the folks at The Short Fuse seems to think that Van Persie is most likely staying, everyone else in the football world including noted footy psychic Kevin McCauley seems to think otherwise. So now let us, as Spurs supporters, look back into our memories at last summer and all the Arsenal fans who gave us shit about the Modric situation. Now that we have done that, let's have some fun needling those people a bit. What's up Sabrina?
PS: Why does Mechanick insist on calling that thing he screwed up "The Pod" like its trendy for people to call podcasts that? Who do you think you are? Ashlock? Stop trying to make "Fetch" happen.
