When I woke up this morning, I was stunned to see the following headline in my RSS reader.
Harry laughs off Chelsea talk
...Chelsea talk? Since when is anyone linking Harry Redknapp to the vacant position at Chelsea? It seems abundantly clear that the only two teams he could possibly be managing in the next year are Tottenham Hotspur and England. Who the hell is talking about this?
Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has laughed off talk linking him with the vacant manager's job at Chelsea.
Redknapp,
who is favourite to succeed Fabio Capello
as England boss, has been mentioned as a contender for the Chelsea
job following the sacking of Andre Villas-Boas
over the weekend.
However, Redknapp has moved to dismiss the speculation that he could take charge at Stamford Bridge.
Hey! What did I just say to you?!? No one is mentioning this but you idiots. I mean, maybe some loonies on message boards are talking about this, but no one who is involved in football is. No reputable journalist is. What are you people on about?
When asked if he would be interested in the Chelsea job, Redknapp said: "That's all I need! It would be difficult; I wouldn't be able to come back to north London so I'd have to pass on that. But it's a dream job for somebody."
Why the hell did anyone ask him that question? I hate modern journalism.
