A statement from the hospital is saying that Fabrice Muamba is in "stable" condition

This is such unbelievably spectacular news and I hardly have words for it. Between the reports that Muamba lost consciousness on the pitch and that he had not been resuscitated before being loaded into an ambulance, things sounded pretty dire, but he's alive and okay at the moment. I have honestly never been happier to hear about any football story in my entire life. All of the praise in the world goes to the medical staff that assisted Muamba and almost certainly saved his life. This would have been a truly dark day in football history without them.
