According to a report from Goal.com's Chief Correspondant Wayne Veysey, Gareth Bale suffered a hamstring injury with Wales in the build-up to Gary Speed's Tribute Match last night. The injury is reportedly a grade 1 hamstring tear, the least serious class of tear. The injury reportedly led Bale to miss the friendly last night.

The injury reportedly takes 10-21 days to recover from. Such an injury would cause Bale to miss this Manchester United this weekend, as well as Wednesday's FA Cup replay vs. Stevenage and Everton the next weekend. Bale's absence hurts an already thin Tottenham Hotspur midfield, as Scott Parker will miss the Manchester United match on a red card suspension.

In Bale's absence there are two likely candidates to fill in: Danny Rose and Niko Kranjcar. Rose is a more natural replacement, as the young left winger will provide width and pace on the left. Kranjcar, however, has long stated his favored position as wide left, where the Croatian is able to cut in on his favored right foot at goal.

Whenever we have a more official report on the details and extent of Bale's injury, we will follow up.
