Poll: Where are you from, Spursland?
Always wondered about this. Get a lot of American-esque commenters, and I'm not as familiar with the British blogosphere to wonder if they follow CFC as much.
Just curious as to where the writers are from as well - a quick glance looks like a lot of you are American or at least follow other American sports. I for one lived in England but am originally an American - so I'm not quite sure where I fit in. Any good stories about how you became a Spurs fan? Plant 'em below.

I'm living in the PacNW...
…but I’m Manhattan born and NY bred, so I think I might still count towards the east coast bias.
I live in West Hollywood.
My wife and I visit friends in San Fran every so often, though. I love that city.
I'm from Hayward originally
But I’ve lived in NYC for the last 11 years.

Anyone know if Spurs are due for another friendly against the Quakes anytime soon? Had a blast at the last one.

been here for the last 4 years, but heading back home to Minnesota in March. Was not really a footy fan before living on the east coast, but I am spurs for life now.

Suns & Spurs (not San Antonio) fan.
Nope. Been there once or twice.
Go to school in NB, originally from PEI. Still an Islander of a type.
Suns & Spurs (not San Antonio) fan.
I wanted an EPL team
I had a few friends, related and unrelated to each other and all of them were Spurs fans save one Man U fan. I didn’t want one of the more well known teams, so I went with Spurs.

I'm from Lahndahn
-ish. An hour outside of the centre of the city.
I had a rather unusual path to becoming a Spurs fan for someone living in Britain in that I had no family pressure to support a team (which is how a vast number of football fans over here get into the game). Wanted to support a local team in the Premiership, hated the smug, imperialist attitude of all the Arsenal fans I knew, so became a Spurs fan almost by default. The first game I ever watched live was Spurs hammering Chelsea in the League Cup semi-final. I gained a childhood hero that day in Teddy Sheringham and a team for life.
Pakistan!!!
Yup! Read that right. Flying the Lilywhite flag down here for over two decades. Come a long ways from listening to the ’91 FA CUp final on a stuttering BBC Sports Radio broadcast to now getting every game on HD!
Awesome
The internet is freaking great. A lot of Pakistani Spurs fans or are you swamped by Big Red Club wankers, too?

Ugh everyone and their daddy is a Man U fan, then Chelsea’s inevitable band wagon supporters followed by the most annoying Arsenal fans on the planet. But Facebook analytics states there are over 10,000 Pakistani Spurs fans. Silent and dignified mostly. But not THIS Year COYS!!!!!

South Carolina, just south of Charlotte
I was originally toying with the idea of supporting Aston Villa, but as I serendipitous learned Spurs folklore, it was impossible for me not to love them. The food poisoning, the double, the cartilage free captain himself, the ups, the many downs, the optimism and diversity. They are exciting. They are good, but not predictably, boringly good. Their style of play completely reminds me of why I fell in love with the sport. In fact, I’ve felt as if I have fell in love. I haven’t been a fan long, and it may lose me legitimacy points for saying this, but those European nights against Inter were what did it for me. The moment I became a fan. It was everything I wanted and more. It was blood pumping determination. It was personal reinvention within a 15 minute period to turn the tide. It was intelligent interplay punctuated by the newly found genius of a single man. It was brilliant individuals that made a brilliant team. My blood was cold as ice, yet my skin was hot as a furnace watching them and it is nearly every time they grace the field. I don’t watch any other sport, none can compare quite frankly. Spurs didn’t just make me love Spurs, they made me love football.
