King Louis of France gets a surprise start.
Happy Spursday, Spursland! You know what it us. It's North London Derby day, and both teams have a couple of small surprises in their lineups. Tottenham Hotspur are going with a straight-up 4-4-2 on the road in a derby, which is both worrying and encouraging. At least we're confident. Arsenal have handed a surprise start to Yossi Benayoun. Here are the lineups.
Tottenham Hotspur Lineup (4-4-2): Friedel; Assou-Ekotto, King, Kaboul, Walker; Bale, Modric, Parker, Kranjcar; Saha, Adebayor
Substitutes: Cudicini, Dawson, Rose, Lennon, Sandro, van der Vaart, Defoe
Arsenal Lineup (4-3-3): Szczesny; Gibbs, Vermaelen, Koscielny, Sagna; Song, Arteta, Rosicky; Benayoun, van Persie, Walcott
Substitutes: Fabianski, Park, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jenkinson, Gervinho, Chamakh, Miquel
I'm pleasantly surprised to see Sandro make the bench. We've got plenty of game-changing ability on that bench if this one is close and starting to go poorly for us late in the game. I'm less confident than I was when I thought that Arsenal wouldn't have their best back four intact, but I'm still confident that we can get a result out of this one.
Kickoff is at 8:30 a.m. ET, 1:30 p.m. GMT. You can catch the game on FOX Soccer Channel and FOX Deportes in the USA, Sportsnet World in Canada and Sky Sports 1 in the UK. No stream links, please. Also, let's keep down the slagging off our own players, kay?
