Tottenham Lining Up Deal For Brazilian Youth International Defender
The fine folks over at South American Football, a fantastic UK-run site about football in South America, passed along reports today that Brazilian youth international central defender Bruno Uvini is joining up with Tottenham Hotspur for a trial. Some reports are suggesting that a deal has already been agreed between Tottenham, Sao Paulo and the player and that the deal will be completed when the transfer window opens.
Bruno Uvini is a highly rated youngster, but I have to admit that I haven't seen much of him, and when I did watch his teams play, I was not paying attention to him specifically. He's been capped 13 times for the Brazil U-20s and he was the captain of that team in the Under-20 World Cup. He's made eight appearances for Sao Paulo and he has the size to compete at the Premier League level.
Hopefully, in the coming days, the club will put out a release themselves and we'll learn a little more, both about Uvini and the terms of the trial.

What does this mean for Bongani Khumalo?
Well? WELL?
Haha
I think we paid £1m for him. Low-risk, didn’t get a reward, oh well.

There is a news story on the Sao Paolo FC official website
Google translate gave me a reasonably intelligible interpretation, looks like it’s all wrapped up.
You can tell it’s him because the one that looks like Fernando Llorente’s goofy younger brother.
from goal.com
Tottenham have completed the signing of Brazil Under-20 and Sao Paulo defender Bruno Uvini on a three-and-a-half-month loan deal, with a view to a £3.1million permanent switch in the summer.

Wikipedia has also been updated to this.
I guess we’re the only club that only does transfers on deadline day or when has already been shut.

Loan deadline hasn't passed yet
These should be the only deals we see now.
My thoughts are like Brian Cushing on the field: Everywhere.

Tim Vickery, South American football expert
Thinks Uvini is crap.
It doesn't matter if he's good.
He’s just coming to make Leandro Damiao feel at home when he gets here.

If we sign Leandro
Then we have a Brazilian in attack, midfield, defence and goal. OMG WE MUST BE BRAZIL FC

Don't know anything about Tim Vickery
so I won’t criticize his opinion. But it seems to me you don’t make the Brazilian national team, at any age, if you’re shit. The video of him looks good. I’m pretty excited about some of the youth players at Spurs right now. Coulibaly, Uvini, Carroll, Luongo all have a chance to be first team contributors. Harry’s signings for the first team trend towards the Premier League veterans, but somebody at the club seems to have an eye on the future.
Tim Vickery has been very right and very wrong with his opinions on youngsters
But he watches a ton of football, takes notes and knows his shit. He is without question one of the best football journalists in the world, one of the few true professionals with serious credibility that remains.

Good to know.
I respect anyone who doesn’t make up bullshit and actually puts in work. Hope the kid works out.
Also that was a year ago
He’s gotten way more playing time since then.
