Tottenham Hotspur daily links
Happy Spursday, Spursland! Don't these Europa League games just sneak up on you? And now there are so many questions. Which striker is going to play? Will we see the kids? How much will we suck? All those questions and more, friends, will be answered today.
And now the "news"
Who? Who thinks that we would be interested in selling any of our strikers? Did you eat paint chips as a kid?
Yes, perhaps you could follow your own advise, sir? Like, pretend you realize you are actually out on the field.
I'll take headlines I never thought I would write for $200 Alex. Good lord! How did that happen?
The answer is no. I bring up again my theory that working for City is like being a trophy wife -- you will be replaced no matter what, probably sooner than you want and earlier than that if you don't produce.
I am all for quotable coaches (I miss Redknapp so much it hurts), but if having a former president land a helicopter and personally glad hand recruits for you is the price for acting like a human being to people of another race, I'll pass on toasting to you.
Just so I don't get accused of only showing one team's side here is the link to the same story on SB Nation's Red Bull blog. Now I agree with everything that is said in the post from Black And Red United except one thing: who cares if the game would have been sloppy! Players, real players, should want to play the game, and the league should let them!
This is a game with a long history of not being played in ideal conditions. For example. look at the pitch at every game played in England in the 60's and 70's. I am guessing that they were not ideal. They still played the game didn't they? And lest you think to yourself "Oh well that was another time the game has changed" might I point to the ladies just 2 years ago. Now it was made apparent that all of the DC United players wanted to play and Red Bull Gaffer Hans Backe made it clear that he wanted nothing to do in playing the game. So I am compelled to ask Hans, "Why are my girls (oh yeah, they mine) so much more badass than you, and why are you afraid of snow if you are Swedish?"
