Manager Sacking Sweeps

We discussed this in one of the threads early on during the summer, and it's completely slipped my mind until recently. We all know that job security and being a Premier League manager don't go hand in hand, so who will get the axe and when will it fall?

In some ways it's late to get in on this game. Even as Spurs fans, some of us might have picked AVB back in mid-August. Right now he's looking as sure to stick around as Harry Redknapp was six months into his tenure. But there's no sack yet! So let's give a look.

Candidates (in order that come to mind):

Brendan Rodgers - Lately it seems that Liverpool might as well be using a temp agency to fill out their managerial position. Rodgers's squad has managed six points from seven games. If a turn around isn't coming, maybe a shift in the manager will be?

Roberto DiMatteo - Yes, Chelsea is still at the top of the table, but DiMatteo was originally a caretaker and Abramovich can be fickle. Will a sudden stumble make a shift in squad?

Mark Hughes - Queen's Park Rangers lay dead last on the table, and big-spending owners don't want their human action figure collection relegated.

Brian McDermott - The same could be said for Reading as could be said for QPR. Well, Reading is in slightly better shape.

Aresene Wenger - Aresenal have gone without a trophy for a while, but have managed to hold on to Champions' League play. Right now they lay seventh, although they've been there before. Still, one has to wonder if the Head Librarians will start to get impatient and usher in a sudden retirement.

Other possibilities: Adkins, Hughton, Lambert, really anyone if things go bad.

Rules for the sweep:

Make a chronological list for the managers sacking. 5 points for each name correctly on the list, with a bonus five points if your chronology is correct. (I.E. if you pick Rodgers then McDermott then Hughes you get 30 points if it happens in that order, 15 if it happens out of order, and 15 points if Rodgers gets sacked and then Hughes (10 for Rodgers, 5 for Hughes).

Bonus points for dates: Put a date that you think the manager will be sacked. The dates would actually be relative (between the 15th and 16th game, during the January transfer window, etc). Picking the right date for the sacking gets an additional 7 point bonus regardless of other chronology (picking the transfer window is a 4 point bonus because of length).

Winner gets bragging rights. This contest isn't endorsed by anyone who runs this site.
