Where Will John Bostock Wind Up?
When John Bostock joined Tottenham Hotspur from Crystal Palace he was tipped as the next big thing in English Football. The 16 year old seemed to have all the skills to be a top class attacking midfielder. However, something happened along the way. Now 20, Bostock has yet to make any sort of impact at White Hart Lane.
Bostock has spent time on loan at Brentford and Hull City and while he has played well in spurts (like this goal for Hull) he has never really consistently impressed. Early this January Bostock was linked with a move to the San Jose Earthquakes of the MLS on season-long loan. This move would be similar to the one Simon Dawkins went on last season. However, it now appears that Bostock will be staying closer to home. League One club Sheffield Wednesday, appear to ready to announce the signing of Bostock on loan before the close of the transfer window.
Either way, these loan moves would be beneficial for Bostock if for not other reason than they would provide the Bostock with more first-team football than he will ever get at Spurs. Bostock's future at Tottenham seems to be pretty limited and a permanent move may be in the cards over the summer. Unfortunately, Tottenham will probably never be able to get back what they paid for him.
Edit: The Tottenham Hotspur official website has announced Bostock's loan to Sheffield Wednesday is official. Bostock will join the Owls for the remainder of the season.
