Well, we've officially reached midseason. Tottenham have exceded expectations, reaching third place with a hope still for the title. All of Spurs' competition has been dropping points as Tottenham has consistently been gaining in the table. A win today would take Tottenham only two points off the title whilst opening a five point gap from fourth place with a game in hand. Who stands in Tottenham's way for those three points? A schizophrenic West Bromwich Albion side.

West Brom have hit the heights of drawing Manchester City and beating Newcastle away. Yet, the same side lost to Wigan and suffered a poor defeat at home to Everton just two days ago. West Brom also marks the first return fixture of the season for Tottenham, as Spurs defeated The Baggies 3-1 on at the end of November at The Hawthorns. Emanuel Adebayor was the star that day, as a Modric-less Spurs side found triumph on the counter-attack.

West Brom, coming off the back of that Everton loss, look a shell of the side that defeated Manchester City. Chris Brunt and Shane Long are serious doubts after injuries in the midweek, while star defender Jonas Olsson is out with a calf strain. Ben Foster continues his strong stint in goal, while the offensive onus will fall on Peter Odemwingie and James Morrison.

The Writers Prediction League continues. Only The Roosevelts predicted a draw, and he got a perfect prediction to launch himself up the table. The rules remain, one point for a correct prediction, a bonus point for getting the score correct. Here are the current standings:
