Second half about to kick off. 0-0 at Carrow Road. No Gary Cahill today unfortunately.

Nice clearance from Zak Whitbread (USMNT).

This game has to end on a Grant Holt header in the 88th minute.

Morning, John.

While I’d love to see the Canaries win, there’s a part of me that can’t help but hope Torres rediscovers a little bit of form. Not so much form that Chelsea become a threat to Spurs’ postion, of course…

Morning! And as I read that Torres missed an 8 yarder.

I’m going to go on record and say I really like AVB’s new haircut.

Norwich and Swansea have really done well at home this year and pretty much look like locks to stay up because of their home form. Then take a look at QPR’s home record and it’s obvious they are in a fight to stay up.

The second best crest with a bird sitting on a ball in the EPL.

True.

I think Norwich’s badge has a bit of the Bayeux tapestry to it…

Shouts of handball just outside the box on Meireles look legit.

by johnf34 on Jan 21, 2012 2:05 PM GMT reply actions

Gotta admire Holt’s work rate.

Not too bothered about whether this ends in a draw or Norwich winning. I’m okay with any 1 or 0 points essentially in any game our rivals play in. So, as long as Chelsea doesn’t win it’s all good.

lose that first “any” before 1 or 0

Getting taken off for a teenager.. It’s almost one of those situations so awkward you can’t even watch.

Lukaku for Torres.

That’s an 18 year-old that’s never scored in the EPL. On for Fernando Freakin’ Torres.

Thing is:

At the top of his form, 50M might not be so far off. It’s silly money, but not SO silly…

And he’s probably going to find it again sometime, which does make it so dangerous to quit on him.

I propose they loan him to Spurs and do the Ade type deal with his wages.

by johnf34 on Jan 21, 2012 2:25 PM GMT up reply actions

I would have Torres on Spurs for £20m.

I will continually mock Chelsea for spending £50m on him, though. He was struggling BEFORE that move.

Question:

What are Torres’ options? Who will take him that can also afford his wages?

by The Sleeper's Sleep on Jan 21, 2012 2:21 PM GMT reply actions

This is assuming, of course, that Torres doesn’t have a future at Chelsea.

by The Sleeper's Sleep on Jan 21, 2012 2:22 PM GMT up reply actions

City and PSG could afford his wages? But would they take him?

by johnf34 on Jan 21, 2012 2:22 PM GMT up reply actions

Of course I think about this from a Spurs perspective.

Torres needs a manager like Redknapp to restore his self-belief, & woud have the opportunity to revive his career. I’d take him in a heartbeat. But we simply can’t afford him. So does he just get loaned around, Ade-style?

Ancillary question:

Will Financial Fair Play orphan players that got silly contracts before those rules came into effect? Players like Ade, Torres, &c?

by The Sleeper's Sleep on Jan 21, 2012 2:26 PM GMT up reply actions

I guess there’s always Anzhi…

by The Sleeper's Sleep on Jan 21, 2012 2:28 PM GMT up reply actions

Laurence McKenna’s personal friend on for Norwich.

by johnf34 on Jan 21, 2012 2:22 PM GMT reply actions

Someone remember to ask on WDR next week if we should try to get Torres on loan if Chelsea buys an “AVB striker” this summer.

By the way if people haven’t noticed, Michael Essien returned today. Glad to see him back.

Don’t go in with your studs high on Kyle Naughton!

Microecon homework calls. But I’ll check in again in a few hours to see what is going on I imagine.

It’s really nice to know that we shouldn’t lose ground on Chelsea and Arsenal this weekend. And I don’t consider losing a point on either of them losing ground.

by johnf34 on Jan 21, 2012 2:34 PM GMT reply actions

5 up on Chelsea with a match in hand.

by johnf34 on Jan 21, 2012 2:36 PM GMT reply actions

I do not understand Fulham or Everton. And come on Wigan!!
