According to multiple reports, Stoke City will officially sign Wilson Palacios today. Palacios has apparently passed his physical and agreed to terms with the Potters. Supposedly though, the move has been slowed down due to Stoke City switching from a combined bid for Peter Crouch and Palacios to just going after the Honduran midfielder.
However, just as it seemed Peter Crouch's move is off, new reports place the tall Tottenham forward on his way to Sunderland. Crouch has supposedly departed the Tottenham training grounds early today. Some sources have said Asamoah Gyan has turned in a transfer request that would open up space for Crouch, but Sunderland so far has denied such a request has been made.
It is clear that the arrival of Scott Parker to Tottenham today has been the final blow to push Palacios out of the Tottenham side. Palacios was instrumental in the 2009-10 season that pushed Tottenham into Champions League football, and he will leave Spurs on good terms with all supporters wishing him the best.
