So much for the madness of transfer deadline day. This looks like transfer deadline days, plural, madness, as today is already absolutely insane with the rumors flying everywhere. This one is no surprise to anyone, as we've heard about the impending capture of Scott Parker and the departure of Wilson Palacios for quite some time. It appears that the deal for Parker is very close, and that Harry Redknapp will allow Palacios to leave if and when he captures Parker.

Though Parker and Palacios are not like for like players, this is a pretty good swap, if it goes down. Parker will cost less than Palacios sells for, and though he is older, he is the much better player at present. Additionally, Sandro is a tactical like for like replacement for Palacios with more skills, while Parker is a kind of player that we just don't have at the moment. If Parker, Sandro, Tom Huddlestone and Luka Modric are our "senior" or "first team" central midfielders going forward, I'm very satisfied with that depth, level of skill, and versatility.
