LONDON, ENGLAND - AUGUST 28: Harry Redknapp manager of Tottenham looks on ahead of the Barclays Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City at White Hart Lane on August 28, 2011 in London, England. (Photo by Michael Regan/Getty Images)
In the 2006 World Cup, Owen Hargreaves was about the only England player who didn't cause the English to want to jump off of a cliff. In his time at Bayern Munich, Hargreaves was fantastic. In spots at Manchester United, he was very solid. As you may know, Hargreaves has not played 90 minutes in a competitive match for almost two years now and is looking for a club. So, of course Harry Redknapp wants to sign him.
Hey, if Hargreaves is interested in joining on a pay-as-you-play deal, it works for me. If the perpetually injured 30-year-old stays perpetually injured, we don't have to pay him anything. If he ends up getting healthy and is even half of the player that he was at Bayern and for England before his injury troubles, he's a hell of a bargain.
But if Harry and Daniel Levy are considering anything other than a pay-as-you-play...wow. Just wow.
IT HAS BEEN SO LONG SINCE HARGREAVES PLAYED THAT I DO NOT HAVE ANY PICTURES OF HIM IN MY VAST ARRAY OF THOUSANDS OF PICTURES THAT THIS COMPANY HAS PURCHASED THE LEGAL RIGHTS TO USE.
