Very nice words out of Harry Redknapp advocating Premiership players begin to work more with the kids at local schools, helping to uplift the community. Harry seems to believe strongly of the social responsibility Tottenham have to get involved in the local community, even as they are based out of the worst affected neighborhood of the recent riots. Such words are a boost to the neighborhood, a welcomed sign after recent efforts to move the club to East London.
Tottenham are already socially active, working with the Haringey Council to develop sports facilities and social programs for the community. Even better, the club has made major pledges to the Mayor's Special Fund, to help raise money for local people who have been affected by the riots.
Fantastic to see the club trying to immediately work on rebuilding the community after these recent troubles. And getting Spurs players to get involved in playing and coaching youths is great--and it might be the only way Giovani dos Santos sees the pitch this season.
