Welcome to your lineups and live match thread for the English Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and Wigan Athletic. It's been a while, hasn't it gang? International breaks are crap.
As most of you know, Spurs are pretty decimated by injuries at the moment. As a result, we're starting four true central midfielders out of necessity. The bench features some decent midfield players, so I guess it's not as bad as it first seems. Perhaps Harry is going narrow for tactical reasons.
*Ducks*
God, is it really that big of a deal that I accused Harry of thinking? No need to throw things.
Spurs' setup could be a 4-4-2 narrow diamond, but my guess is that we'll see Rafael van der Vaart and Luka Modric drifting inside from wide positions. Wigan go with their classic 4-3-3/4-5-1 hybrid that always becomes the latter because they're Wigan. Here are your lineups.
Tottenham Hotspur lineup (4-4-2): Gomes; Assou-Ekotto, Bassong, Dawson, Corluka; van der Vaart, Sandro, Jenas, Modric; Defoe, Pavlyuchenko
Wigan Athletic lineup (4-3-3): Al-Habsi; Figueroa, Alcaraz, Caldwell, Boyce; Watson, Cleverley, McCarthy; Moses, N'Zogbia, Rodallega
