Grant Holt: Ball So Hard
Happy Holidays everyone. This Christmas marks the most optimism seen among Spurs supporters in a long time. Tottenham is third in the table due to a strong run of form, marked recently by a win over Sunderland and draw versus Chelsea last week. A title challenge is distant, but in reach, as Spurs lie ten points back with two games in hand from the Manchester clubs. But third place seems the goal, and a win over Norwich today will launch Tottenham four points clear of Chelsea with a game still in hand.
A trip to Norwich City will be no easy challenge for Spurs. Norwich have been solid in their first run as a promotes side. The team is mid-table and in a solid run of form, taking five out of their last possible nine points in the league. The East Anglians are led by their dominant strike force of Steve Morison and Grant Holt, who have combined to score 13 goals in the league. Wes Houlihan has driven the team from midfield, while Russell Martin continues to marshal the Canaries' defense. However, Norwich in defesne looks to suffer as Tottenham loanee Kyle Naughton sits out the match.
The Writers Prediction League continues. Ryan and Ashlock are still jockeying for first, while a perfect prediction has Mechanick pushing up the table. The rules remain, one point for a correct prediction, a bonus point for getting the score correct. Here's the current standings:
This week's predictions after the jump:
Kevin: 1-1 Draw, simply because of our injuries. Our CB pairing concerns me and we're going to do something dumb like put Modric on the right.
Ashlock: Norwich's strikers scare me, especially without our best centerhalves. Norwich 2-0
Mechanick: Our centerbacks are hurt. Grant Holt is awesome. But so is Gareth Bale, and he'll be facing a brand new Norwich defense. 3-2 Spurs
Ryan: Yellow is a stupid color. 2-1 Spurs
The Roosevelts: [The Roosevelt's holiday festivities have left him too hungover for a comment] 1-1 Draw
Evan: The holiday hangover and injury problems earn Tottenham a 2-2 Draw.
